The rumored Samsung Galaxy S II Plus (GT-I9105) is making more noise today as word of its benchmarks hit the internet. Once expected to offer a single core 1GHz processor, new details suggest it may ultimately turn out to be a 1.4GHz processor with a PowerVR SGX 544MP GPU. Should that be the case, it appears the Galaxy S II Plus will have performance along the lines of the Amazon Kindle Fire HD (8.9″).
Additional rumored hardware for the Galaxy S II Plus include Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich, a 4.3-inch Super AMOLED Plus (960×540) display, 1GB RAM, an 8-megapixel camera, and microSD expansion. Said to be offered in two color options (blue and grey), the GT-I9105 is also set to come with two storage capacities – 16GB and 32GB.
It’s hard to say if we’ll ever see this phone come to the United States, especially with a carrier. Considering the focus as of late seems to be on the Galaxy S III and Galaxy Note II, we find it hard to see them stepping so far back with a refresh of last year’s model.
