Huawei takes another step in its expanding U.S. presence today announcing its first 4G LTE smartphone for MetroPCS. The 3.5-inch Activa 4G runs Android 2.3 Gingerbread, features an 800MHz processor, 5-megapixel camera, and 4GB storage (microSD). While it’s not a top of the line set of hardware, you’ll appreciate that it only costs $149.99 without a contract. MetroPCS taps the Activa 4G with a list price of $249.99 so it’s not clear how long the limited time instant discount and mail-in rebate will last. Even without its rebates, the Huawei comes in lower than other 4G LTE handsets on the carrier’s lineup, besting LG’s and Samsung’s offerings.
