In a move that will surely please a few of you, HBO Go and Max Go have been updated to support Android 4.0 smartphones this week. When we say smartphones, we mean exactly that – the handsets. According to the change log, the apps are for Android phones running up to version 4.04 (Ice Cream Sandwich).
For whatever reason, HBO Go and Max Go continue to treat Android tablets like step-children and have yet to give us a good, large screen companion. We get that they might have skipped on Honeycomb but there’s no excuse for Ice Cream Sandwich. And while we understand that it works on the Galaxy Tab 2 (7-inch), we have not found it to work on much else. Here’s to hoping for a serious expansion of support out of their respective camps.
If you subscribe to HBO or Cinemax and own an Android 4.0 handset then we suggest checking out the free applications. Please note that the service depends on whether your carrier plays ball.
